Trees, Sunsets and Rebirth: A Prayer
Oh Lord God, Creator and Father, we praise you and we thank you Lord that in your infinite goodness you made the world in such
beautiful harmony ever lifting our eyes towards thee.
Lord, thou bringest light and warmth into the world; thou art the goodness behind the rising of the sun and of the greening of the trees.
So too father, thou art the truth and the beauty behind the glory of the sun's setting and of the leaves changing; thou hath conquered death and bringeth beauty unceasing in your perpetual triumph over it.
Lord, in your great mercy you hath filled the world with beauty accessible and profound for child and theologian alike.
Lord, you give the gift of forgiveness and glorification to all your creation; you bring beautiful death, and joyous rebirth gifting life to trees like those we killed you on. You hath used the instrument of your death to call us also to die and so live.
Lord, I pray that each day as we see each sun set and rise we cherish your example and take it to heart. Lord, I pray that every year as trees blossom into life from death that we remember we must do the same.
Lord in your great mercy, we praise you and we thank you. Amen
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1 Corinthians 15:31
I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!
